The Consistency final was recently played between Sandra Warren and Kathy Elliott.
The game was close for the first few ends but then Kathy pulled away and was the first to 150 shots and therefore the winner.
Kathy had the remarkable ability to maintain consistent concentration throughout the final enabling her to get either 1st or 2nd in with her last bowl.
Sandra has been a consistent finalist when playing in the team game of Fours so it was wonderful to see her reach the final of such a prestigious Singles event for the first time.
Kathy has had a meteroic rise in her first year of playing the sport as she was also a member of the winning Championship Triples team and runner up in the Championship Fours in 2017. She has a big bowls future ahead of her.
Congratulations to both players.
2017 Minor Singles
A brilliant game was played between Linda Copley and newcomer Linda Nankervis in the Minor Singles final.
Both players displayed exceptional ability to consistently draw to the jack.
Even though Linda Copley maintained the lead throughout the match, Linda Nankervis fought back to be within 1 shot resulting in a 20-19 scoreline. However, showing intense concentration and focus Linda C scored 5 more shots to win the game 25-19.
This was a fabulous game which was greatly appreciated by the spectactors and our congratulations go to both players.
The competition itself showcased the immense talent that is emerging amongst the minor players.

2017 Championship Fours
A hard fought game was played in the final of the Championship Fours between last years winners lead by Maggie Johnston and a newly formed team lead by Leslea Gruber. Both teams played consistent bowls with the score see sawing until the 19th end when all players played exceptional bowls. But it was Maggie's brilliant shot with her last bowl to put the jack into the ditch for a count of 3 shots that sealed the game for her team. The score of 19-15 proved to be too much for the opposition to overcome with the final score being 20-15.
It was a fantastic game worthy of a final which the spectators thoroughly enjoyed.
Congratulations to all the players.
